Allia shortlisted for environmental achievement award
Peterborough Future Business Centre recognised for its green credentials and eco-initiatives
Allia’s Future Business Centre in Peterborough has been shortlisted for an environmental achievement award, recognising the organisation’s overall commitment to sustainability and adoption of eco-friendly schemes.
This award nomination follows the Peterborough centre’s accreditation last month by the Investors in the Environment national scheme, which was achieved for Allia’s commitment to minimising its environmental impact and widening its sustainable approach.
The award – part of the Peterborough Telegraph’s Business Awards – is given to the company which has demonstrated a commitment to environmental sustainability and in so doing has contributed to Peterborough’s growing reputation as the UK’s Environmental Capital City.
In addition to the accreditation, which measured a range of resource usage and evidenced energy reduction over the course of a year, a number of other initiatives are in place that reduce environmental impact at the centre. The onsite bistro and bar has a reusable cup loyalty scheme as well as a refill scheme to encourage reducing plastic waste. It was one of the first outlets in Peterborough to sign up to the refill scheme which allows members of the public to fill up their water bottles for free; not only encouraging people within the centre, but also extending this ethos to the citizens of Peterborough.
Allia’s commitment to environmental sustainability filters into every aspect of the organisation, through the ventures it supports and the buildings it works in, which are dedicated to sustainable practices throughout their running and management.
The winners of the awards will be announced on 23 November in Peterborough.
