A community of award-winning innovators

We’re still on a high after last night’s Science and Technology awards, run by the Cambridge Independent! Not only was it great to mingle with so many exciting companies on the cutting edge of Cambridge’s science and technology cluster – but we were delighted that so many of our friends, tenants and ventures from our Future Business Centre were winners of awards.

We were pleased to sponsor a new category this year, the Tech for Good award, as we’re passionate about supporting businesses that use tech with purpose, to try and solve some of the world’s most urgent challenges – whether it’s through social innovation, renewable energy or assistive technology. We knew we’d see lots of our friends and partners there at the ceremony when we discovered that many were shortlisted for awards across a number of categories, including Cleantech, Agritech, CEO and Start Up of the Year.

So we were delighted that three of our tenant companies walked off with awards on the night! Martin Clark, CEO of Allia Future Business Centre, handed over our Tech for Good award to Dyslexia Box – who provide assistive technology and services for the workplace and education. KisanHub, who provide an agricultural supply chain intelligence system connecting farmers and food businesses, won the AgriTech company of the year. And Cleantech company of the year went to Corrosion Radar, who transform corrosion management through cutting edge sensor technology, IOT and predictive analytics.

Not only that but all four of the shortlisted companies in the Cleantech category are associated with Allia Future Business Centre, either as tenants or ventures who have been on one of our support programmes. We pride ourselves on our Cleantech cluster and this rofta of finalists really underlines the calibre of the companies who call our centre home. We were also cheering for our past tenants, BIOS, a neural engineering company that create an interface between the human nervous system and artificial intelligence, were awarded Start up of the year.

With a range of other awards celebrating the best of the region’s science and tech innovation across sectors from biotech to medtech, artificial intelligence to life sciences, it was an inspiring night.
