Cambridge Solar Ltd takes home British Renewable Energy Installer of the Year

Allia Future Business Centre tenant Cambridge Solar Ltd is celebrating its win at the Renewable Energy Association Awards

The company won the prestigious British Renewable Energy Installer of the Year 2018 award.

The awards took place at The Savoy, London on 14th June, where London Deputy Mayor for Environment and Energy Shirley Rodrigues gave the keynote address, and news anchor Cathy Newman presented the awards.

Since 2009, Cambridge Solar has installed solar panels at nearly 400 sites across Cambridgeshire, including Great St. Mary’s Church, and are being recognized for their high-quality systems and outstanding customer service.

Virginia Graham, a 2018 judge and Chief Executive of the REAL Assurance Scheme, said: “The emphasis on high quality, reliable, productive installations shone through in their application,” adding that Cambridge Solar is “clearly a company that place customer satisfaction at the heart of their operations”.

Allia supports those that aim to make positive change and address the most pressing global and local challenges, through inspiring workplaces, effective support and social finance. Cambridge Solar has been a tenant at the Allia Future Business Centre in Cambridge since March 2015.

Owen Morgan, Founder and Managing Director of Cambridge Solar, said: “There are thousands of renewable energy installers operating in the UK, so to have been selected by the judges as British Renewable Energy Installer 2018 is a huge achievement for us.

“I am deeply proud of our team and the work we do, and I’m pleased to be recognised by industry experts for our commitment to quality and excellent customer service.”

Founded in 2009 and based at the Allia Future Business Centre on Kings Hedges Rd, Cambridge, Cambridge Solar Ltd designs and installs solar photovoltaic (PV) energy systems for a breadth of clients.

The company is celebrating a rewarding series of accomplishments. In April, it won Best Solar PV Installer at the East of England Energy Efficiency Awards, and was also recognized at the Cambridgeshire SME Business Awards for Service Excellence.

The 2018 British REA Awards judges included Dr Alan Whitehead MP; the Chief Executive of the Energy Saving Trust; the Chief Scientist of Greenpeace UK; the Director of UK100; professors in related fields and industry leaders.
