Allia’s plans for Future Business Centre, East London

On Monday 18th April, JP Morgan Chase Foundation and Allia released a report and inquiry into the potential effect of a Future Business Centre in East London

The report developed by Co-Create, an East London based consultancy co-operative, was to explore if and how Allia’s successful Future Business Centre model in Cambridge and Peterborough can be adapted to and useful in the context of East London. Allia gratefully acknowledge the support of JP Morgan Chase Foundation in supporting this work.

Allia are working towards opening a Future Business Centre in an interim location in January 2017 and our next steps are broadly to:

  • Find a temporary location to be operational and delivering interventions as soon as possible but in any case before January 2017
  • Connect with partners in service provision whilst understanding specific local authority service provision in the four boroughs of Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham and Waltham Forest
  • Secure grant-funding for short term-provision of outreach services
  • Explore possible funding approaches to a long-term building
