For many of us, 2021 could not come fast enough. I will not expound on the world’s collective gratitude in 2020 being finished, you can watch Netflix’s Death to 2020 for a much more humorous take on this! As we continue in yet another lockdown, I’d like to frame some of the work that Allia will be working on this year to support the impact start-ups and local businesses that are getting ready to step up and make a difference.

The Scottish Government has agreed investment worth £105 million to boost the number of affordable homes in Scotland – through Allia’s Charitable Bond programme. It has been working with Allia for 8 successful years – and now £105 million has been secured for the social housing sector.

Climate Accelerator comes to a close with a Demo Day for climate tech founders

We have been working with Europe’s leading climate innovation initiative, EIT Climate-KIC, to deliver 6 months of support to start-ups who have innovative solutions for addressing the climate emergency

As the programme came to a close, the founders joined to pitch their ventures at Allia’s Climate Accelerator Demo Day at the British Antarctic Survey in Cambridge – the same venue that saw the launch of the programme back in January 2022.
